Fits Maverick, X3. Cross-check the OE number above against your machine before ordering — the number is the only reliable identifier once a model has had mid-year revisions.
100% PBO (aramid) cord
PBO cord, not polyester
PBO is the fibre sold as Zylon. It holds its strength at the temperatures a CVT runs at and barely stretches under load, which is the failure every CVT belt eventually dies of: the cord creeps, the belt sits deeper in the sheave, and the machine starts shifting badly long before the belt breaks. Most cheap belts run polyester cord. This one does not.
| Polyester cord most import belts | PBO cord this belt | |
|---|---|---|
| Heat | Softens earlier under sustained CVT temperature | Holds its strength at CVT temperatures |
| Stretch under load | Cord creeps, belt rides lower in the sheave | Resists creep, keeps its ratio |
| What fails first | Glazing and cord stretch, long before it breaks | Surface wear, not stretch |
| What you notice | Lazy take-off, rpm climbing, poor backshift | Consistent shifting through its life |
Materials comparison, not a lab test of this specific belt.
